Roberta Robins, J.D.
Patent Counsel
Dr. Robins received a Bachelor of Science
degree in Biological Sciences from San Jose
State University in 1976 and a J.D. (cum laude)
from the University of California, Hastings
College of the Law, in 1987. Ms. Robins also
pursued several years of graduate work in cell
and molecular biology at San Francisco State
University. Prior to entering the legal field, Ms.
Robins worked as a researcher in genetics at
the University of California, San Francisco. After
graduating from law school, Ms. Robins joined
the San Francisco patent law firm of Limbach &
Limbach, where she handled patent prosecution
and litigation in a range of technical areas. In
1988, she joined the Peninsula law firm of Ciotti
& Murashige, which ultimately became the
patent group of Morrison & Foerster, and
specialized in biotechnology patent prosecution.
In 1992, Ms. Robins cofounded the law firm of
Reed & Robins where she handled a wide
variety of intellectual property matters. From
1997 until 2001, Ms. Robins headed the law firm
of Robins & Associates. In 2001, Ms. Robins
and Dahna S. Pasternak formed Robins &
Pasternak LLP.
